FAQs

What is chiropractic adjustment?

It is a gentle, non-invasive, specific, high velocity low amplitude "thrust" delivered by hand or instrument. The purpose of the adjustment is to correct your spinal subluxations; thus removing the nerve interference in your body. This can allow your body to maintain and regain its good health by its innate healing power.

If I have subluxated joints, do I just come in every week to get adjusted and my body get better without exercise?

No. Exercise enhances the mobility of the joints, power of our muscles and stability of our body structure.

What causes the sound made during a chiropractic adjustment?

That sound is not your spine "cracking" or "popping" like most people think. That sound is created by gas rushing in to fill the partial vacuum created when the joints are slightly separated. Not all chiropractic adjusting techniques produce this noise. In fact, some adjusting techniques use little force and thus produce no noise at all.

What is a Subluxation?

Subluxation occurs when a vertebra impedes the transmission of information along the spine and throughout the central nervous system. Chiropractic is not symptom-based treatment, it is a shift in lifestyle to help the body to perform at peak ability rather than dealing with problems as they arise.

While treatment length varies from person to person, there are a few rules of thumb you can follow. Newer injuries may respond quickly while chronic injuries may take up to months. The best way to determine how long your treatment will take is to schedule a consultation and examination.

It is important to remember that adjustments are passive care given by chiropractors. Primary care such as exercise and stretching are also important. As after subluxation are corrected, the joints are adapting to the new form and strong soft tissue and muscle are needed to support them.

A chiropractor can carry out an adjustment to correct the subluxations. Chiropractor can perform chiropractic adjustment to correct vertebral subluxation, reduce the interference to out spinal nervous system, enhance our self-healing power.
